Queen City Immigration Law Successfully Obtains P-1 Visa for World-Ranked Ivana Habazin

Queen City Immigration Law successfully helps Salita Promotions obtain a P-1 visa for world-ranked Croation boxer Ivana Habazin. The Vermont Service Center has approved her I-129 Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker that had been filed under the Premium Processing Service.

The P1 visa is available for foreign nationals entering the U.S. to participate as an internationally recognized athlete--whether individually or as part of a team--at a specific sports competition that is internationally recognized. Sports personnel of the petitioner are also eligible for the P-1 visa.

According to the USCIS, “international recognition” is defined as having a high degree of accomplishments that take significant skill and recognized in more than one country. P1 visa holders perform for prize money or payment.

The 29-year-old middleweight boxer is the current International Boxing Organization (IBO) World Champion with a record of 20 wins--including seven knockouts--and three loses. She captured the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Female Welterweight Title in 2014.

Salita Promotions was founded in 2010 by Dmitriy Salita, who is not only an American professional boxer and world title challenger, but also a promoter. Salita created the promotional entity to feature the best young prospects and established contenders the boxing world has to offer in North America and the rest of the world.

At Queen City Immigration, our legal team is committed to helping our clients reach their immigration goals. Whether you are participating in an internationally-recognized boxing match or you are part of the athlete's staff, we can ensure you obtain the visa necessary to do your job and support your country.
